Notorious screen villain Jean Reno's demise has been greatly exaggerated.
Various outlets are saying Reno was hospitalized after suffering a heart attack in the Caribbean. Not true, says his rep.
She tells us, "Reports that actor Jean Reno is in the hospital due to a heart attack are false. He is vacationing in the Caribbean and went to a local hospital as a precaution for some discomfort he was feeling due to heartburn and gastroenteritis. It was definitely was [sic] not a heart attack. He is fine and healthy and enjoying the rest of his vacation traveling in the Caribbean."

Michael Phelps has plunked down $1.69 million for a condo on the waterfront in Baltimore, Md. Here's the headline -- practicing in that pool ain't gonna win him any medals.
His new pad is 4,080 sq. ft. (check out the model in the photos). The complex has a rooftop terrace, a private screening room, a state of the art gym, a clubhouse with pool tables.
If you're wondering where the money came from, Phelps was projected to earn between three and five mil this year even before the gold.

Barack Obama better watch his back because the Secret Service doesn't seem to be doing it so well.
How the hell did Jonny Fairplay, the most hated man in reality TV, get in Barack's face? Look closely at the pic -- we see at least three agents and surely there are several dozen more. What we now know is a little frightening.
The photo was taken yesterday, after an appearance at Short Sugar's BBQ in Danville, Va. Some of the joint's employees tell us Fairplay "jumped out of the woodwork" and into frame, "catching Barack off guard." We're thinkin' the Secret Service was flatfooted too. As long as we're on the subject, aren't they supposed to catch people who "jump out of the woodwork"?
Repeated calls and emails to Barack's camp were not returned.

There was a time Ashley Tisdale couldn't even walk out of her house without an army of screaming tweenagers marching after her (like a month ago) -- but it looks like those days are finally over.
The other "High School Musical" star hit the epicenter of her fan base yesterday -- an L.A. mall -- but the only people who approached her were the ones paid to do so.

Bono was in his beach house in the South of France, listening to new U2 tracks -- not figuring anyone would wander by, record the songs on a cellphone and post them on YouTube. But someone did.
The real album comes out in November.

How do we know Swizz Beatz is a pretty big deal in the music biz? He's baller enough to owe almost $900K in taxes.
The IRS records show there's a tax lien of $842,644.52 against Swizz (real name Kasseem Dean) and his estranged wife, Mashonda. By comparison, former NFL legend Bernie Kosar owes $228K, and Mini-Me has a $300K lien.
We put in a call to Violator Management, but haven't heard back yet.

With a name like Matt Hoover, you'd expect that the "Biggest Loser" champ would suck at personal training. Well, if you believe a new neck-breaking lawsuit, he's an even bigger loser than you thought.
Clarissa Sanford claims she hired Hoover in 2006 to tone her ass up at Vision Quest Sports and Fitness in King County, Washington. She says Hoover not only was late and careless, but also, instead of spotting her, he walked away while she was bench pressing 40 pounds of weight. Sandford says by the time he returned the weight crashed down on her neck.
As a result, Sanford says she suffered "serious neck injuries which ultimately required a five-level fusion surgery from the C3 through C7 levels of her cervical spine."
She's suing Hoover and VQS for unspecified damages.
Hoover and club couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
